Hello, I am Beatriz Oliveira
A 24 year old artist born and raised in Brazil until my 18th birthday. After I was done with high school in my home country my mother got a work opportunity to bring herself and my family to the USA as permanent residents. Ever since then I have attended college and met the love of my life, my soon to be husband Mike, become an auntie and have a second family now since mine are all in Brazil.
It was over the last few years I spent here in the USA that I truly invested in my hobby and one true passion which is when I experimented with acrylic paint and my one true love for its wonder started.

How my love for art started
Honestly, ever since I was a little kid I always seemed to pursue getting better in my artistic skills. My family always encouraged me to practice more and more as I grew.
My biggest supporter and idol was always my father since he also has an artistic background himself. I always just wanted to be as good as he is even though his expertise is more on cartoon characters than realism artwork like I decided to do.
My family as a whole always wanted me to do something art related but I never thought I could make as one which is why for many years I went after a nursing degree. It wasn't until I realized the work scenario I was stepping myself into and until I met my beloved fiancé that I decided to go after my dream of becoming a full time artist.

After I started to engage in the "booktok" community and see how many incredible fantasy artists were out there I then decided to also start creating artwork based on books that lived rent free in my head and held more than a special place in my heart.
The first ever piece I made was "Starlight Dream" and although it did not get as much of views as my latest work, the amount at the time was more than I had ever reached before which made me decide to continue creating more artwork based off fantasy books.
That is when I created my most viral piece "Dragon Rider" and many others in the bookish community encouraged me to start my small business and not just make these artworks for myself only.

Starting my business
At first I have to say, I was very scared to embark on this journey. You never know if all your time and investment will pay off at the end so I considered all of my options with both my family and my fiancé until we came all to the conclusion that I would never know until I tried it out.
I then started to research all kind of things to make sure I could give my best to each and every custumer. From the best printers in the market, to professional quality fine art matte paper, which platform to use, how to professionally package, ship and many other things...
It has been such a learning curve and I still am learning till this very day on how to give the best to every book lover that invest on my artworks .

Why bookish artwork?
When I first came to the USA I did not know how to speak any English, truly. It was mainly by studying books that I learned the language. At first I started with children book since I knew the stories in Portuguese. Then I decided to expand and my first ever book was Percy Jackson, which holds a very dear place in my heart. After that I continued finding new fantasy books to practiced and learn as much as I could.
However, high school in Brazil started to become very demanding and since we were not in the country for 2 years I had a lot of catching up to do and the books were left out alone for many years until in 2021 I started my reading journey once again and fell in love once again with the worlds and stories I was reading. I started having so many ideas of artworks I could try to do so my visions would come to life but never tried until 2024 when I started my art account.

What is my goal?
Ever since I started this business my one true goal has been to share my work with others, but mainly because it brings me the most amount of joy seeing my work on other people's homes.
I never thought I would get to experience this feeling but seeing many others want to invest in my work just makes me want to keep growing my business not only for prints and original paintings. I just truly enjoy seeing other book lovers loving my work as much as I do since it all came from the same books we love dearly.
